This playful concept soon evolved into a serious project. They began collecting objects and stories from friends, and the first exhibition debuted in 2006 as a traveling collection. It toured extensively, visiting numerous cities worldwide and gathering new contributions along the way.

After unsuccessful attempts to secure government funding for a permanent location, Vištica and Grubišić made a private investment, opening the museum in its current Zagreb home in October 2010. Located within the beautiful baroque Kulmer palace, it became Zagreb's first privately owned museum. In 2011, its innovative concept was recognized globally when it received the prestigious Kenneth Hudson Award for Europe's Most Innovative Museum.
