Brief History: Completed in 2021 and opened to the public in October of the same year, Ain Dubai was developed by Meraas and forms the centerpiece of the Bluewaters Island project. The wheel was designed to boost Dubai’s image as a global leader in innovative architecture and tourism. Notable Features: At 250 meters (820 feet), Ain Dubai is the tallest and largest observation wheel in the world. Its minimalist, ultra-modern architecture is built with over 9,000 tons of steel, utilizing state-of-the-art engineering from Europe and Asia. It features 48 enclosed, air-conditioned cabins offering 360° views of the Arabian Gulf and Dubai skyline. Fun Fact or Unique Angle: Ain Dubai’s construction involved the use of one of the world’s largest cranes, and each rotation takes about 38 minutes. It can carry over 1,750 passengers at a time. Current Use or Visitor Info: Temporarily closed as of 2025 for maintenance and upgrades, Ain Dubai remains a highly visible and iconic part of the city skyline. When open, it offers standard, family, and VIP experiences. Guests should book in advance and arrive early for the best views, especially at sunset.
