Rock and Water Features
Experience the rock formations, waterfalls, and koi ponds of Nan Lian Garden—a Tang-inspired retreat and top thing to see in Hong Kong.

Brief History: Inspired by Tang Dynasty garden design, these elements were carefully placed to symbolize balance and the natural flow of life. The garden opened in 2006 and follows classical landscaping traditions. Notable Features: Handpicked ornamental rocks, flowing waterfalls, and crystal-clear koi ponds create a meticulously arranged yet naturalistic environment. The rocks are arranged to mimic mountain landscapes, while water elements add movement and sound. Fun Fact: Every rock in Nan Lian Garden was transported from mainland China and positioned according to precise design principles of Feng Shui. Current Use: Visitors can stroll along winding paths, take in panoramic views, and enjoy photography spots. The garden also houses a vegetarian restaurant and tea house overlooking waterfalls, offering a peaceful dining experience.
