Brief History: Formed by the Düden River’s flow toward the Mediterranean, this dramatic waterfall became a landmark in coastal Antalya during the expansion of the city in the late 20th century. It quickly gained fame due to its direct plunge from a 40-meter cliff into the sea. Notable Features: The waterfall is located in Düden Park, where the cliff sharply drops into the blue Mediterranean. The sheer height and volume of water create a mesmerizing natural performance. Visitors can also spot it from boat tours that pass just offshore. Fun Fact: On windy days, the spray from the waterfall can be seen from kilometers away, and even felt by walkers along the Lara cliffs. Locals often call it “Antalya’s balcony to the sea.” Current Use: A prime viewpoint is available from the edge of Düden Park. It’s free to visit, and many tourists enjoy the view during sunset. Boats departing from Kaleiçi (Old Town harbor) also offer stunning views from the sea. Great spot for photography, but beware of cliff edges.
