Erected in 130 AD to honor the Roman Emperor Hadrian’s visit to the city, Hadrian’s Gate is one of the finest examples of Roman architecture in Turkey. The triple-arched white marble gateway stands flanked by impressive towers and decorated with elegant floral and geometric carvings. As the ceremonial entrance to the old city, the gate symbolized prestige and power. Visitors today walk through the very same path once graced by emperors, experiencing a vivid connection to antiquity.
