The Dubai Fountain is the world’s largest choreographed fountain system and sits adjacent to The Dubai Mall on the 30-acre Burj Lake. Designed by California-based WET Design and launched in 2009, it features jets that shoot water up to 150 meters high, synchronized with music and 6,600 lights. Although technically outside the mall, it’s a central visual highlight and is best viewed from the Apple Store terrace or the Fountain Promenade. Architecturally, it combines classical symmetry with digital engineering. Fun fact: it performs to a variety of global songs, including Arabic, classical, and pop hits. Visitors flock to the edge of the mall to view the free shows that occur every 30 minutes in the evening.
